This hotel is located in the old part of Amsterdam overlooking one of the cities most charming canals and is just a short walk from the Central Station, Dam Square and the Red Light district, as well as the main shopping street called the Kalverstraat. It is a former 16th century Royal Inn and was the setting for the wedding of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

The rooms are medium to large in size and were completely renovated in 2008. They are now very modern, approx 35 square metres in size, and all have opulent furniture with either a dark purple or green colour theme. They all benefit from flat screen tv's and a bose sound system and are in excellent condition. The bathrooms are also in excellent condition and have seperate showers and bath with a built-in tv at one end of the bath, and with dark slate floor.The rooms vary in size and shape as they have been individually designed to reflect the building's historic past. They have views onto the 17th century canals, the secluded garden or the paved inner courtyard.

The restaurant is located on the ground floor and serves a wonderful, local menu with French influence. Both the service and food is of a very high standard which is why the restaurant is popular with both locals and hotel guests. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant, which will also benefit from total refurbishment in 2009.
